One down, many to go
“Twitter Suicide” shouts the headline.
A Labour spokesman confirmed that Mr. MacLennan had been dropped as the candidate for Moray for "the totally unacceptable language which he has expressed online".
He added: "Stuart MacLennan is no longer a Labour Party candidate nor eligible to hold office as a Labour Party representative."
What is interesting is that Gordon Brown said: "A candidate has made a mistake. It’s unacceptable. That candidate has got to resign.
Maybe he should take some of his own advice.
Vote Match
So you think you know which party represents you the best? Or do you always vote for the same party, or abstain because you want to protest?
Well here is an interesting vote matching system that might identify which party you most align with.
Watch out you might not like the results.
How it works: You are asked if you agree or disagree with 20-30 statements (e.g. "Britain should join the Single European Currency"). The website then matches your views with the responses to these statements provided to them by the political parties standing in the elections.
It does not tell you how to vote. It merely gives you information as to the parties’ policies on specific policy areas, in order to help you make your choice.
Vote Match doesn’t just give just you a result; it explains why your responses match, and gives you links to where you can go for more information.
I would still like the option to select none of the above though….
If there was ever a reason to vote for someone else
There is now are very good reason to vote against the current Labour politicians. A quote in the newspapers today which read:
“Gordon Brown pledges ‘five more years’ as Prime Minister if Labour wins”
Why is this a positive thing?
How can you trust him? He has presided the economic mess and tried to blame others for the country’s woes, he has his own staff calling him a bully, members of his cabinet selling their services to influence policy and the with a straight face tells us to pay more taxes for our own good.
No ta
The Game’s afoot
At last, the great one-eyed wonder has called an election. Not that we are given much of a choice. After 13 years of corruption and abuse we are being asked to chose from the same tainted gene pool.
It is about time we were able to show them how we really feel, while still exercising our democratic right to vote.
Time for "none of the above"
