The sums don’t add up

By nota

With each new manifesto we hear the cry from all of the other parties “the sums don’t add up”.  How can they all be so hopeless at math?

This is either a reflection of the fact that none of the politicians have any mathematical ability (the expense scandal may have proved this) or, which is more likely, none of them have a clue about the economy and how to get us out of the hole that they have dug.

On top of this you then have the smallest parties making promises and pledges about what they will do when in power, which of course will never happen, so the real question is why do they bother.

Surely if all the political parties (besides the 2 largest) grouped together and stood on a single platform they may actually achieve something.  Maybe they should consider standing as “none of the above”.  A result could be that the independent parties actually were able to deliver something…

Then again probably not as they are all as bad as each other.
